The Regional Municipality of Durham has initiated a Schedule C Class Environmental Assessment to plan for additional sanitary sewage capacity to provide service for the population growth in Sunderland and Cannington within the Township of Brock.

This study is being undertaken to identify an environmentally sound and sustainable solution that provides:

  • Collection and pumping requirements to provide adequate municipal sanitary servicing to both Sunderland and Cannington communities to 2031 and beyond.
  • Sanitary treatment requirements to provide adequate municipal servicing to both Sunderland and Cannington to 2031 and beyond.
  • Strategic oversizing and long-range planning of the facilities to accommodate future sanitary servicing demands to 2031 and beyond.
