Cycling Wayfinding and Signage Strategy
About the Cycling Wayfinding and Signage Strategy
The Regional Municipality of Durham is developing a Cycling Wayfinding and Signage Strategy to establish a unique Regional cycling brand to elevate the Region’s reputation as a premier cycling destination. The primary focus of this initiative is to develop a new signage system along the Primary Cycling Network (PCN), with particular emphasis on Regional roads and properties under the Region’s jurisdiction across all eight area municipalities.
What is the purpose of this study?
The Region is simplifying cycling navigation throughout Durham Region with the development of a Cycling Wayfinding and Signage Strategy. This initiative aims to introduce new, visually consistent signs to help residents and visitors navigate the cycling network more easily. The goal is to provide users of all ages and abilities with a well-designed, intuitive, and organized wayfinding and signage system along the Region’s Primary Cycling Network.
