About the Cycling Wayfinding and Signage Strategy
The Regional Municipality of Durham is developing a Cycling Wayfinding and Signage Strategy to establish a unique regional cycling brand to elevate the Region's reputation as a premier cycling destination. The primary focus of this initiative is to develop a new signage system along the Primary Cycling Network (PCN), with particular emphasis on regional roads and properties under the Region’s jurisdiction across all eight area municipalities.
What is the purpose of this study?
The Cycling Wayfinding and Signage Strategy strives to provide residents and visitors with a well-designed, intuitive and cohesive wayfinding and signage system. Its purpose is to help make it easier for residents and visitors to navigate and interpret the Region’s PCN and connect to key destinations by providing consistent signage to encourage safe and comfortable use of the cycling network by users of all ages and abilities.
