The Durham Greener Homes program helps Durham residents make their homes more energy efficient while saving money. Since the program launched in April 2022, more than 1,600 residents have signed up to take advantage of services including personalized advice from expert energy coaches, financial incentives, and tools to lower energy consumption, make their homes more comfortable, reduce utility bills, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The program is delivered by Windfall Ecology Centre. Visit DurhamGreenerHomes.ca for more information.
The Region is considering expanding the program to help residents reduce the impact of severe weather on their home or property. This can include things like reducing the impact of basement flooding, wind damage, and heat stress. Help design the program!
