Imagine a day without access to tap water in your home or school. Not being able to do everyday things we normally take for granted like washing our hands, brushing our teeth, taking a shower, cleaning the dishes, or flushing the toilet. Not having water available for drinking or cooking.

In celebration of Imagine a Day Without Water on October 17, the Region has launched a drawing challenge!

Your creation may be featured on our website or in Regional Water reports!

By sharing images, you are giving consent to the Region of Durham to use your drawing in any future promotions and materials.

Challenge contest rules:

  • Must be a Durham resident and 18 years of age or under.
  • Draw or paint a picture (any medium is acceptable including pencils, paint or crayons) of what water means to you and your family on a plain sheet of white paper.
  • Please include your name and what municipality you live in with submission. Permission from parents/guardian is required to enter.
  • Drawing art challenge ends Sunday, December 1 at midnight. Entries submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

Please send your creative drawing by Sunday, December 1 by via email to WaterChallenge@durham.ca.
