National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours the children taken, families left behind and survivors of Canada’s residential school system. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of colonialism and residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
