Previous Grandview Rehabilitation and Treatment Centre is future location for Regional services
The Region of Durham has signed an Agreement of Purchase and Sale to purchase the land and building of the original Grandview Rehabilitation and Treatment Centre for future use to deliver Regional services. Durham Regional Council approved the purchase of the property with the one-storey building, at 600 Townline Road South, in the City of Oshawa (Townline site). The Townline site offers an ideal location to offer community-based child care and Early Years programs and services. There's a lot of excitement about this site's potential to serve the growing community.
A portion of the property around the building is also being assessed for potential future housing opportunities, including a mix of market and affordable units. The Region is taking a comprehensive approach to the planning of the Townline site. A detailed feasibility study and implementation plan will be essential to ensure the successful development of these important initiatives.
The purchase of the Townline site aligns with Durham Region’s 2025-2035 Strategic Plan’s pathways ‘Connected and Vibrant Communities’ and ‘Healthy People, Caring Communities’.
