Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month

14 May 2026

May is Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Awareness Month.

This rare and progressive genetic disease affects the lungs and digestive system, and it’s estimated that one in every 3,600 children born in Canada has cystic fibrosis. There is currently no cure.

This month is an opportunity to recognize the strength of those living with CF, raise awareness, and fund research to advance treatments and find a cure.

To show our support for the individuals, families and health care professionals who make up the Cystic Fibrosis community, the Cystic Fibrosis Canada Flag was raised this morning (May 14) at Regional Headquarters and will fly until May 20.
