Red Dress Day

6 May 2026

On May 5, we gathered to observe Red Dress Day—a national day of awareness honouring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirited people.

The red dress is a powerful reminder of the Indigenous daughters, mothers, sisters, relatives and Two‑Spirited people whose lives were taken or remain missing.

This day calls on us to acknowledge the stories too often left unseen and to stand in solidarity with the families and communities who continue to carry profound loss.

As a visible symbol of our commitment to reconciliation and to supporting Indigenous communities, the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) Flag was raised at Regional Headquarters on May 5.
